Opera programs

Opera embodies the full spectrum of human emotions: sadness and happiness, laughter and tears, love and hate, life and death. Portraying these intense emotions demands both courage and the right knowledge and practical tools to express them through your voice. At Kulturama’s opera programs, also known as Stockholm Opera Studio, you will have the opportunity to develop these essential skills.

Kulturama’s opera program is a two-year full-time program where each year can be applied for separately. This opera training is ideal for those with extensive singing experience and a solid understanding of music theory, who wish to develop their unique personality as a singer. You can apply directly after high school. If you have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, you are welcome to apply directly to the second year. We tailor the music theory studies to match your prior knowledge.

Opera 1,

Last day to apply: March 31, 2025
Duration: August 2025 - June 2026, full-time
Fee: 34.800 SEK per semester
Location: Stockholm

During your first year at Stockholm Opera Studio, you will begin your journey of discovering your unique voice and how you wish to express yourself on the opera stage. Our experienced and skilled educators will be there to guide you. The teaching is focused on rehearsing, opera interpretation and stage production, with opportunities each term to participate in productions.

Opera 2

Duration: August 2025 - June 2026, full-time
Fee: 34.800 SEK per semester
Location: Stockholm

In the second year of the program, you will take courses designed to strengthen you both as a singer and an artist. The focus is on deepening and refining your skills in vocal interpretation, physical stage training and scenic expression. Our highly competent teachers will be there to support you.

Throughout the year, you will have the opportunity to participate in several productions and concerts, allowing you to put your knowledge into practice and experience the applause of the audience.

If you have a bachelor’s degree from a music or opera school or equivalent experience, you are welcome to apply directly to the second year. This program will equip you with the tools to become more competitive when auditioning for jobs or agents.

Opera, part-time

Duration: September 2025 - June 2026, 2 evenings/week
Fee: 20.500 SEK per semester
Location: Stockholm

Kulturama’s part-time opera education offers a foundational music-dramatic education perfect for those who have taken singing lessons or sung in a choir and now wish to develop as soloists. Our experienced and dedicated teachers will guide you, helping you explore the possibilities of your voice and find a suitable repertoire for your unique instrument.
